I brought my camera to school to get some shots of my class doing their mural prints. Monday I did mine with the help of Eden, and today we did hers. I’m afraid of sounding like a huge wimp, but I have to admit to being sore all over from the whole process. It would probably help if both of us were more than a few inches taller than our actual prints! Luckily, we turned out to be major pros at the whole process.
Only a few people printed today, but it was all amazing. I can’t wait to see what everyone else is doing.

I also created a Flickr set for all the pictures I take on campus.

Tonight we did something very rare: we got into the holiday spirit and carved jack-o-lanterns! Well, I did, anyway– Chris carved a sandía-o-lantern :) Normally I’m a big scrooge when it comes to Halloween, but this was lots of fun.
The best part of all was getting to make agua de sandía with the leftover watermelon bits, and of course, roasted pumpkin seeds. Yum!
A few more photos, including our end results, after the jump.

I got a prophetic word over the weekend, which they recorded and gave to me. It wasn’t very different than reading your daily horoscope: very vague and applicable to a wide range of people. Still, it was nice.
I have to admit to being very happy that this weekend is over, though. The experiential weekends are always so draining, and I find it impossible to do anything else school related. Next weekend I’m off to the Tibetan Buddhist monestary, then I’m done with religion for the rest of the semester!

This weekend is the Evangel Christian experiential workshop, and during the introductory meeting last night a girl brought a big bucket of candy to share. It sits on the table next to the tea and other refreshments, and I’ve found that I absolutely cannot resist these miniature fruit flavored Tootsie Rolls. The lemon ones, as well as lime, are especially delicious! I hope there aren’t anymore when I go back tonight ’cause I fear I’ll otherwise be walking home with a belly ache. I have no self control.
Speaking of this workshop– it’s really unfortunate that the last movie I watched was The Big Lebowski, because during Q&A time I hear in my head, over and over, “Yeah, well that’s just like… Your opinion, man!”

Going into the dark room this morning to make this print was a bit of a shock for me considering the extremely small format I usually print in. Normally, my photos are no bigger than 3×5″, but this one is a whopping 14×11″! I could barely fit it into the developing tray.
Anyway, this print is called The Glamorous Surgery. Lesa, the girl on the left holding the snoot like it was something important, was quite touched by the narration and asked for a signed copy from me. What a compliment!
On Monday we start mural printing, and after that we are doing an edition print for a class exchange. It dawned on me that this is the last photo I had to take for this semester. A bit sad, but also a huge relief! Now I can focus on my academic classes and take photos at my leisure.
